Giving

We believe a vital part of belonging is helping to meet the financial needs of the church. Making a regular financial contribution to the work of the local church is not only biblical but a very practical way of standing shoulder to shoulder with the whole church and demonstrating your commitment and support.

The work and ministry of CORE, clergy and staff salaries and the care and maintenance of the property are all financed entirely from the contributions of its members. A full financial report, audited accounts and annual budget is published each year and made available to the whole church at the Annual General Meeting. The Nehemiah Group, which is elected at the AGM, formally agrees and oversees the church budget and authorises expenditure throughout the year.

In addition over 10% of money received by CORE is given away to support other Christian ministries locally, nationally and globally under the auspices of the Nehemiah Group.

Visitors to the church are under no obligation to give.

How can you give?

  • Set up a Standing Order
  • Use the Envelope Scheme
  • Collections are taken at each Sunday service

We are able to claim tax back on all donations that are given by cheque, standing order or in cash through the envelope scheme – this adds an average of 30% to the total giving at no cost to members and therefore we strongly encourage members to adopt one of these ways of giving.

Once a year in the spring we also have an annual gift day at which we listen to the plans and priorities of the church’s ministry for the coming year and have an opportunity to respond financially to the vision.

Methods of Giving

1. Standing Order

This is by far the easiest and most tax-efficient form of giving and is helpful for our own budget projections.

Forms are available to download at the bottom of this page, at the Welcome Area, or you can contact the church by .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or on 01 4735100 and we will send one to you.

2. Envelope Scheme

This allows you to put in variable cash donations during the year in a way agreed with the Revenue that can count towards the tax relief. The principle is this: you sign up to take a numbered envelope say number 26 and you get 52 envelopes with this number on and you put in each week what you wish to contribute. These are tallied under the number 26 and then we can produce a PAYE form at the end of the year for these contributions.

If you would like to avail of this scheme or know more, please contact the church by .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or on 01 4735100.

3. Cheque Donations

These also qualify for the tax relief and are all welcome.

4. Cash Donations to Plate

Clearly it is still possible to contribute to the plate anonymously and although it cannot be included in the tax relief scheme every gift is much appreciated

5. Online

Donate online via PayPal or using your credit or debit card, by clicking on the ‘Donate Now…’ button on the right of this page.
