Our God is a creative God, who expresses his character and nature through creation. We are seeking to discover and encourage broader and more dynamic expressions of worship through the arts and media.
CORE Creatives is our umbrella name for the creative community within the church that expresses itself through art, drama, film, music and more.
There really are loads of opportunities to use your specific, creative gifts to serve Jesus within the church. Some recent activities have included shooting and editing videos for events within the church, painting backdrops for Kidz Klub themes, creating images and taking photographs for this website and writing and performing dramas for Family Services.
The limit really is your imagination.

I have been involved in various one-off artistic events in churches over the years which have been great, but I’d always had the feeling that more was possible, like being an artist in residence, but I didn’t think that there was a need for this at Core.
One Sunday I was chatting about this to Paddy Heron who runs Kidz Klub, and right there he asked me if I would paint a set for Kidz Klub as he was launching a new theme in a few weeks. One set has led to three and counting and I have also done paintings for the Christmas carol service and participated in Creative Space.
I love that I have found a way to use the gifts God has given me in really relevant, useful ways. It’s given me a great deal of satisfaction and I hope that it might inspire others to see how they can get involved too.
