Rugby Team Extraordinaire
Yes, we’re a church that has a rugby team!
But it’s no ordinary rugby team. It’s goal is to get the kids in the local area – known as the Liberties – playing rugby, a game they might never have played before. By this seemingly simple feat we’d love to see the following things happen:
- Young lads developing skills and abilities that up until now they weren’t aware they had
- Friendships being formed along with all important team spirit
- Everyone having fun
- Growth of a very serious appreciation of the game of rugby!
- The lads being aware of CORE actively participating in their community
While all the lads coming along to train or play have different expectations, we want everyone to feel involved and know that they’re part of something exciting going on in Dublin’s Liberties.
We know that our time with the kids and our resources are limited but our hope is that some will go on to join senior clubs once they become 18, perhaps go on further to achieve representatives honours… and maybe even become Rugby Legends from the Liberties!!!
If you like the idea…
There are things you too can do:
- if you pray, pray for us
- if you’ve a flare for coaching, we need more coaches
- if you’ve a car, we need help transporting kids to and from games
