Kidz Klub Vision Statement
Kidz Klub is a dynamic and powerful ministry presenting the love of Jesus in a practical way to children aged four to twelve. Kidz Klub run two, one-hour long clubs each Saturday during the school term. The club for four to eight year old children starts at 11am and the club for eight to twelve year olds starts at 2pm. The clubs take place in CORE and most of the children attending come from the local flat complexes surrounding the church.
Our aim is that this will be the most exciting hour of these kids’ weeks!
What happens…
…at the 11 o’clock club
Each Saturday a bus collects the children from designated ‘bus-stops’ near their homes and brings them to CORE. The club starts with lively praise and worship songs, followed by fun games that link in with a themed panto. Next, there is a teaching time with a positive, Bible-based message presented through drama, DVDs, puppets, memory verses and a whole variety of visual aids! At the end of the teaching time the children are given the opportunity to pray and receive prayer for themselves and their families
…at the 2 o’clock club
This club also starts with lively praise and worship songs, followed by a teaching time with a positive, Bible-based message presented through drama, DVDs, memory verses and object lessons. At the end of the teaching time the children are given the opportunity to pray and receive prayer for themselves and their families. After this the kids are divided into teams and spend time at different activity stations set up around the church, including Sumo Wrestling, Play Station 2, Basketball, Penalty Shootout, Table Soccer and Bracelet Making.
…the rest of the week
Every kid that comes to Kidz Klub is highly valued and receives a personal visit to their home each week by two of the Kidz Klub team. This allows us to build positive relationships with both the child and their parents, as we recognise the value of working together with the parents for the benefit of the children. During this visit a colouring sheet with a bible memory verse and puzzle, is given to each child. They are encouraged to learn the verse for the club on the following Saturday and bring their sheet in for the weekly colouring competition
