PM Service: The Power of Prayer and Fasting Matt 17:21 / Mk 9:29
Music Session @ the Clock

Following on from the Collide music evening event we are starting up a regular monthly music session in the Clock Pub on Thomas Street on the 2nd Friday of every month, starting on 14th May at 8pm. It will be a mixture of Irish trad music, folk, ballads, bluegrass etc
It will be less formal than the Collide event in that it will be just everyone sitting around in a semi-circle playing & singing, no line-ups just a regular type session. We might have an Open Mic spot during the night with a Mic and amp where anyone can get up and sing/play.
I envisage having the first one or two sessions just for Core musicians/singers and friends from other churches and if it goes well then would be thinking of putting up posters in local area advertising the regular sessions for local musicians to join in. I think it could be great opportunity to get really involved with the local community.
Please come along and support this evening. Ceol agus Craic !!

A Week of Fasting and Prayer

On Sunday 16th May through to the 23rd we are taking time as a church community to fast and pray and to seek God as we enter into a new season at CORE.
Jon introduced the week on Sunday 2nd May and will give us more information regarding what the week will look like, what is fasting? Why fast? and how to fast?
We want to encourage as many people to join us.
Details are available on the leaflets at the back of the Church.
Kidz Klub – CORE SPORTS Day away 8th May 2010

Thank you again to all those who volunteered on our last sports day away which was fantastic! It is such a special day away and means more than you know to the kids who get to enjoy a great day away of sports and fun with great leaders who really make the day special. I love being able to present each child with a medal at the end of the day and tell them they are winners.
The reason the day is such a success is because of the selfless giving of all the volunteers. Please come along this year on the 8th May(Saturday).
The main Job for the volunteers is to lead the teams of kids during the sports day and trip to the beach. We have two leaders in charge of each team. I will also need sports station leaders for each of the 8 sports activities. If You have any questions about the day or would like to volunteer, please call Paddy on 0872919590
Many Thanks in advance.
Paddy Heron.
MAD

(Make a Difference) is taking place on Sunday the 20th June from 2pm-10pm in Glenealy, Co Wicklow
Staged for the first time in 2008 and then in 2009, MAD attracted over 2,000 people. This year the line-up is even more spectacular and amongst the many top acts there are groups like – WORSHIP CENTRAL BAND -Praise for real people from one of the top UK praise bands out of London.
L Z 7 – Flying in from Manchester, this is a high-energy and explosive six piece Christian rap group, mixing rock, hip-hop and tough street beats. It’s loud and very spectacular!
SHELL PERRIS: Former UK girl-band star, her very contemporary sound and lyrics present a powerful message of hope for real life flying in specially from Ohio, Christian band TBR places heavy emphasis on its live shows – spin kicks, guitar swings and multiple members in the air are common. They are reaping huge commercial success in the US, UK and Europe and it is a unique opportunity to see this world class Christian band live on their first visit to Ireland.
YFRIDAY – YFriday comes to MAD on the back of six successful albums-including their best know track “Everlasting God.”
Also scheduled to appear are: Dublin Gospel Choir; Tom + Olly; RONAN JOHNSTON & EMMAUS
Although focussed mainly on the teenage to 30 year old age group, it is very much a Christian festival for all ages. The event takes place in one of the most beautiful valley’s of Co, Wicklow, the perfect place for a church and/or a family day out.
For more information and to get “Early Bird” tickets, go to www.MAD2010.com
