Liberty Saints

Liberty Saints have entered a team in the Under 17 Leinster Youth’s Cup. This is the first competitive game for the club (i.e not a friendly) and a huge development. It remains to be seen how the team will fair as the competition is very tough however with a huge support from CORE they might just have an edge on the opposition. We are hoping that 100 people will come out to support the team. Even if you hate sport or think rugby is stupid you can still support and encourage the players. If on the day the players see that people have come out to support them they will be encouraged and built up. It is easy to shout “Come on the Saints!”. The match is on Sunday 21st March with time and venue to be confirmed. Will you be 1 of the 100?

Collide Music Evening Feedback
![]()
Last Saturday evening we had a great evening of music, chat and ‘ceol agus craic’ at the Clock Pub in Thomas Street. The event was attended by about 140 people, which included about 60 folk from Core church, our friends in the local community and friends from other churches.
We want to especially thank the musicians and singers who made this a great entertaining evening. The music started off about 8.15pm with the Core trad group (who have been practicing since start of the year to learn lots of new trad tunes): Salla Heron (flute), Jason Killingsworth (whistles), Emily McVicker (fiddle), Elizabeth McNicholas (bodhran), David Gibson (harmonica) and Barry Gilbert (guitar) and guest musician John Cleere (banjo and fiddle). And then we had the following wonderful performers singing and playing throughout the evening: Joanna Burke (vocals) & Matt Moorman (vocals and guitar), Jon Kissell (vocals & guitar), Sarah Marshall (vocals & guitar), Ruben Sargentini (vocals) and our guest friend Pat Sweeney (vocals & guitar) who got the crowd singing. There was lots of good feedback about the music and beautiful voices, a very talented bunch!!
Many thanks to all who came along and to those that helped us to set up, and to all who enjoyed the chat and the music. Thanks to Kate O Ceallaigh who provided snack food and to Paul McNamara who was photographer for the night and Paddy Heron who acted as MC. And many thanks to the bar staff of the Clock pub for the sandwiches and service.
David Gibson was speaking with some of the regular customers of the Clock as the evening was finishing up. They told him they enjoyed the evening and would welcome more music sessions in the future.
Barry also spoke to the barman that was on duty and he was pleased with the way it went and said he got some good feedback from the punters on the night.
Events like this are a great way for us to be ‘Salt and Light’ (Matthew 5 v 13-16) and share God’s love and have fellowship in the local community.
Have a look at the photos from the evening. http://picasaweb.google.com/corestcatherines/20100302?feat=directlink
God Bless,
David Gibson, Barry Gilbert.
