Craig Cooney’s Introduction Service

On Sunday 4th September at 7.30pm we will be officially welcoming Craig Cooney to CORE at his Introduction Service with the Archbishop Michael Jackson. For now put the date in your diary, more information to follow!

Office coverage during holiday period:

Office staff will be taking holidays during July and August and the office may not be manned all of the time during this period. In the event of something urgent please leave a message on the answering machine on 01 – 4735100 as this will be monitored regularly.

Your church needs you!!

If you are not currently involved in a ministry in church there are a number of ways you can get involved. We are currently looking for volunteers for:

Sound Team One Sunday morning a month

Kidz Klub – Saturday Klubs Saturday morning or afternoon

Kidz Klub – Visiting Midweek afternoons/evenings

Mainly Music (various roles) Thursday mornings

Fundraising Triathlon for The Solas Project

Would you be interested in taking part in a fundraising triathlon for the Solas Project? Or do you know someone who would? The Solas Project supports children from disadvantaged backgrounds in the adventure of discovering their self-worth and potential through education and sport. The Triathlon is a great opportunity to raise some much needed funds for the project. It will take place in Clogherhead, Co. Louth on Saturday 10th September.

There are two options for you to participate in the Triathlon:

1. Sprint Distance – 750m swim, 20km cycle and 5km run
This distance is very manageable if you are in any way fit or even own a tracksuit! The swim is just 30 lengths of 25m pool and will take about 20 to 25 minutes, the cycle will take less than an hour and the run about 30 minutes. All in all you’ll be finished and back home in time for a healthy fry-up!

2. Team relay, Sprint Distance Triathlon- 750m swim, 20km cycle and 5km run
If you excel at one of the three disciplines (or if you simply can’t swim or cycle!) than this is the option for you. You just need to find 2 others and each person on the relay team does one leg of the triathlon. If you can’t get a team together but would like to do one leg, let us know and we can put you into a team.

CORE Kids Summer Break –Calling all Parents!

Summer holidays have nearly come around again and as we do each year we are giving our CORE Kids volunteers a much needed summer break! So we have activity packs, some games and a DVD set up down in the crèche and back tower room for the kids. This space will not be supervised so parents are responsible to keep an eye are their kids! We love having the kids being part of our worship and are asking parents to encourage their kids to be part of this time, especially the older ones! We also ask parents to ensure that their children don’t go onto the balcony during or after the service. Thank you for your help in making this summer break run as smoothly as possible! – CORE Kids Team.

Prayer Requests and Thanksgivings

• Continue to pray for Craig and Becky as they prepare to move to Dublin at the end of the summer.
• Please continue to pray for volunteers to come forward to help with a number of our ministries specifically Kidz Klub, Mainly Music, CORE Kids and the powerpoint team.
• Pray for the Solas Summer Project that is happening at the moment pray for protection and fun as they go on day trips over the next 2 weeks.
• Pray for all those affected by the famine in southern Somalia. Pray that aid will reach those who need it and for wisdom for those distributing it.
