Picnic in the Park – Sunday 12th June
![]()
On Sunday 12th June, after the All-age service we will be going to the Phoenix Park for our annual Church Picnic in the Park! Bring a picnic and a rug; there will be games and hopefully lots of sunshine! Meet at the visitors centre in the park!
Liberties Flea Market – Sunday 26th June

On Sunday 26th June we have a stand at The Liberties Flea market in Newmarket Square. This is a great opportunity to raise some much needed funds and get out into our local community! You can help in two ways:
1. Volunteers to man the stand on the day – the market is from 11am – 5pm and set up is from 9am. We are hoping to get enough volunteers to be able to have people man the stand in shifts so if you are up for helping out contact Clodagh: 0871772095/ clodagh.oreilly@hotmail.com.
2. We need some stuff to sell at our stand so we are looking for you to clear out your home of unwanted Brick a Brack (No Junk please!), Books, CD’s, Nice Clothes, etc. Plus we could use homemade Jams, etc. Bring it along to the church on Sunday!
C.O.R.E Gift Day

Thank you to all who gave generously on our Gift Day (22nd May). We raised over €8,000 (including pledges) towards our target of €15,000 as well as some increases in monthly giving. If you would still like to give please put your gift in an envelope marked ‘Gift Day’ in the Sunday collection or fill out one of the Gift Day pledge forms
Maracycle Sponsorship

On Sat 25th June, James Reid will be doing a sponsored cycle to Belfast and back! Wow…that is 110 miles each way on a bicycle…amazing!! James will very kindly be donating half of the raised funds to CORE so please dig deep and show your support!! If you would like to sponsor James, please let him know or click here: http://www.mycharity.ie/event/james_reids_maracycle/
Ministry Focus: Sunday Prayer Ministry Team
![]()
A few weeks ago Mary Finn and Olive Ryan shared about the prayer ministry team. Here is some of what Olive shared in case you missed it:
We all have needs and are not meant to cope with them on our own. We all need the Lord to help us, as well as others to help and stand with us to bless, encourage and help us to hear the Lord. Coming for prayer means opening up to God in the company of others and asking others to pray and stand with us. No issue is too small or stupid to be prayed for. I am reminded of the woman who had been bleeding for 12 years (Matt.9:20). The lady came up behind Jesus and touched the hem of His garment. She said, “If I only touch His cloak, I will be healed”. She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and spent all that she had, she had got worse rather than better (Mark 5:25). She KNEW that if she just touched the hem of Jesus’ cloak, she would be healed. She had a deep trust and confidence that Jesus had the power to do this, “one touch and I will be healed”, such was her faith. The Scripture says IMMEDIATELY her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering. Jesus realised that the power had gone out of Him to heal and asked, “Who touched me?” When the woman admitted it was her, Jesus publicly commended her faith, “Daughter, your faith has healed you, go in peace and be freed from your suffering.” Here this woman was healed physically and spiritually healed.
You might say you have “no faith”, stepping out of your seat and coming forward and asking for prayer is starting to exercise your faith. You only need the faith of a mustard seed and it will grow. When you come forward you do not have to give a life story of your needs, only tell what you are comfortable with. But it is healthy to expose the issue/need. Then turn your heart to Jesus. Expect God to work and to bless, touch, heal or give direction. It is God who works – the person praying has no power or miracles. God is the miracle worker. They are only human workers, seeking to be servants of Jesus and channels of His love.
The person praying may pray in different ways. They are looking to Jesus with you. The person praying may have long involved prayers or short brief prayers. In the early days in CORE we used to pray “Bless Kate, more of Your Spirit Lord” and a few short sentences like that. As you are being prayed with, be looking to connect with Jesus. Open your hands and heart to receiving His touch. The Scriptures are full of wonderful promises of God’s desire to bless us and there are many promises about His response if you call on the name of the Lord.
Our prayer ministry team is available to pray with you after each Sunday service. If you are interested in joining the prayer ministry team please talk to Mary or Olive.
C.O.R.E Prayer Alert Email
![]()
The C.O.R.E Prayer Alert E-Mail is a way in which people can receive prayer requests via e-mail and also pray for the needs/requests of others in the Church. If you would like to be part of praying for people in C.O.R.E or their family/friends etc. we would love to help you do this. All you have to do is to give us your e-mail address and then, every so often, you will receive a request to pray for a particular person or situation. There is no commitment other than to pray for the situations when you receive them via e-mail. If you do not already receive these emails and would like to join this list please contact Amy (pa.corechurch@gmail.com).
