Sunday Mornings – Weekly @11am CORE

11 am will be the main time for the community of CORE to gather to worship except the second Sunday evening of the month when we will have a training evening, ‘Equipping the Saints’.

We are delighted to welcome Jonny Clarke Director of YWAM Ireland on the morning service of the 3rd October to share with us. We would like to encourage you to come, bring friends and be encouraged and built up in the faith as we hear the stories of what God is doing across Ireland and the world.

Collide Event - Jason Upton Concert on Saturday 9th October

Every term we have a Collide Event, an opportunity to ‘bump into each other’ and get to know each other better. This term we are all going to head down to The Exchange, Gardiner Street for a worship concert by Jason Upton on Saturday 9th October.

Jason Upton was adopted in 1973 and grew up in Minneapolis Minnesota, After getting married to his wife Rachel, in 1995, the two had an encounter with God that would change their lives. This encounter made them question why they just sang in churches and left them with a desire to impact people for Christ. During their time at Regent University, finishing their Masters of Divinity programs, they set up a worship room in their home where they regularly gathered with other worshipers to pray and intercede. It was during these times that they realized that the songs God was giving them during worship were not simply songs but keys that would open and shut doors in the spirit. Since that time Jason has been asked to worship all over the country and the world. On January 9, 2001 Jason and Rachel had their first child, Samuel James.

Equipping The Saints – Prayer Ministry Training on Sunday 10th October

The second ‘Equipping the Saints Training Evening’ will be on Prayer Ministry. The theme of the evening: Ministering in the Power of the Holy Spirit.
The evening will start with worship, followed by practical teaching and prayer ministry. We would like to invite those who have already been trained in praying for others to come for a refresher and for those who would like to be trained to join us. We would also like to open the evening up to those from other churches who would be interested in learning about Prayer ministry.

Just for Girls – Small group & Monthly Evening Meet Ups

Over the past few months we have been having a rethink of our Mums and Tots group that met on Tuesday mornings. We felt that we were moving into a season where mums at the church were all at different stages: some mums who had come to mums and tots for years now have kids that are at school and others have gone back to work and can no longer make a day time group. However, there was still a real desire for something that would give space for women to focus on God and our relationship with him. So, we have come up with a suggestion that we are going to try this term and see how it works:

Weekly Small Group
We have started a weekly, Tuesday morning (10-12) Small Group at Salla’s House just for women. We have a child minder which gives us an uninterrupted 2 hours together. The important parts to this morning are encouraging each other to push into the Lord & his plans for each one of us, worship, space for quiet and then praying in 2/3s so there is a safe environment for real honesty with God.

Monthly Meet Ups
We are also going to have a monthly Meet Up (on the third Tuesday in the month, when there will be no morning SG) which will alternate between social and ministry. All women in the church are invited. The purpose and vision is to give a monthly opportunity for women to meet together – to build friendships and also have time and space to hang out with the Lord.

The dates for this term are:

For the Baking evening and the Christmas Dinner we’ll need to have numbers and we’ll be asking for a contribution towards costs. But we’ll sort that out closer to the time. These evenings are going to be very informal and relaxed, I’ve made up fliers that are at the back of church, so grab one, pin it to your notice board and get the dates in your diary!
In the next week I am going to be starting a Facebook ‘Just for Girls’ Group, ideally we’ll get all the women in the church on this so we can easily send out details about events.
If you’re a girl (of any age!), I’m really hoping you’ll join us at some of the events this term!

Prayer Requests

• Please pray for families in the community who have shown interest in coming to church on Sunday mornings. Pray that God will clear obstacles to them doing this.
• Please pray for St Catherine’s Park and Graveyard so that this will be a place of light rather than death.
• Please pray for the Burke family following the death of their Grandmother.
• Pray for Sandra Warren that the Lord would strengthen her in her difficult position.
• Pray for the CORE Kids band as they are rehearsing.
• Pray for the three days of prayer and fasting that we might see a breakthrough in the church
• Pray that Theresa will find a new flat.
• Pray for Philomena O’Brien and her family.
• Pray for Ruairi and Kate.
