Gift Day – This Sunday
No! It’s not Christmas, but it is the season for giving to support the ministries of CORE @ St. Catherine’s. This year we have a very real need to raise our finances above a deficit level and to encourage all of us to consider ways we can increase the value of our giving to CORE. On Sunday 22nd we will give you some details on our financial shortcomings and our requirement to finance the growth we are planning over the next year. SO PLEASE CONSIDER GIVING A ONCE OFF CAPITAL SUM OR INCREASING YOUR Direct Debit/ envelope tithe.
CHY2 - Tax Refund Forms
As most of you know we can claim back a percentage of the tax paid on tithes that are given through direct debit or our envelope scheme. If you have received a CHY2 form in the post from the church in the last few weeks could you please check it’s accurate, sign it and send it back to the office. If you would like to start giving in a way that allows us to claim back some of your tax or have any queries about CHY2 please contact James (james@corechurch.ie or 01 4735100).
Prayer Walk in the Community – Monday 23rd May
Our prayer walk in the community is next Monday night (23rd). We will be meeting here at C.O.R.E at 7.30pm for a time of worship before heading out onto the streets to pray. We will be walking down James St, past Guinness to Solas in Basin Lane. This is a great opportunity to get out and be present bringing the light of Christ onto the streets and praying for the different needs of the community. We will be finishing up back here in CORE at 9pm. Please try to make it along!
C.O.R.E AGM – Wed. 25th May
Our AGM is next Wednesday 25th May at 7.30pm here in St. Catherines. This will be a chance to get a review of the year here at C.O.R.E including an update on finances, an introduction to the newly formed Barnabas Group and time for questions and answers. Please come along and take part!
C.O.R.E Prayer Alert Email
The C.O.R.E Prayer Alert E-Mail is a way in which people can receive prayer requests via e-mail and also pray for the needs/requests of others in the Church. If you would like to be part of praying for people in C.O.R.E or their family/friends etc. we would love to help you do this. All you have to do is to give us your e-mail address and then, every so often, you will receive a request to pray for a particular person or situation. There is no commitment other than to pray for the situations when you receive them via e-mail. If you do not already receive these emails and would like to join this list please contact Amy (pa.corechurch@gmail.com).
Clowns for Haiti – Irish-Haitian Gala Evening – Mon. 23rd May
Hi guys, I know this is very short notice, we just heard last week that the Bishop and Gladys are coming over, so we are hoping to just catch the moment and make it a special evening. If anyone could offer music, Irish dancing or any other suggestions regarding entertainment for the night please contact me. This is a showcase for all our talent so let’s take to the stage! Thanks! Prayer Requests and Thanksgivings
• Continue to pray for all involved in appointing a new minister, pray that the right person be chosen and for wisdom and discernment for the trustees at this time.
• Pray for the finances in the church, pray that God will continue to provide for all our needs, and pray for wisdom and creativity in fundraising.
• Pray for Solas after-schools project (Salla, Anne, Graham and the children) this week as they adapt to some changes. They are now meeting in the church to facilitate a larger group with the addition of 5 boys to the existing group of 12 girls.
• Please keep Kidz Klub Junior Leaders in your prayers – pray that God would break through in their lives and pray for Clodagh, Paddy and all that work with them.
• Pray for Graham as he runs a Rugby programme in 6 local schools this month and pray God’s blessings on C.O.R.E’s relationships with these schools.
