Town Hall Meeting – Sunday 20th February at 7.30pm

This Sunday we will be holding a “Town Hall Meeting” at 7.30pm as a response to issues that have arose at the EGM and from the Truscott Report. If you want to make a written submission on the report please email it to Amy by 5pm on the 15th February (Today). These submissions will then be then be compiled by the Transition Team and presented at the town hall meeting to ensure all comments, concerns and questions are brought to the Trustees when they meet on the 23rd Feb.
Prayer Vision Meeting

Hi All, next Tuesday, the 15th Feb. at 7.30pm (in CORE) we are meeting to explore and brainstorm what prayer could look like here in CORE. There are lots of ideas floating around of what we could do in terms of prayer in this new season. So this is an opportunity to bring and share your ideas, hear others peoples suggestions and hopefully start pulling together a vision for prayer in the church. This quote from Oswald Chambers strikes me as significant for us at this time of transition: “Prayer does not fit us for the greater work.
Prayer is the greater work”
So if you can come along on the 15th please do. If you are not able to make it but would like to contribute your suggestions please email Amy at pa.corechurch@gmail.com.
Big Spring Clean – Sat. 26th February

Many of you have expressed the need for the church building to be cleaned and tidied up in the past few weeks. So we have organized a Big Spring Clean on Saturday 26th February. This will take place from 11am- 3pm. Lunch and refreshments will be provided! Please come along and help out if you can, and let Amy know if you plan on coming!
Maintenance help needed!

Do you have practical skills that could help us here with building maintenance? There are lots of odd jobs we could do with some extra help with and we are looking for people who have skills in areas such as carpentry, plumbing etc. Please contact James (james@corechurch.ie or 4735100) if you are interested and think you could give a hand!
Election – Why vote?

With public confidence in our government and politicians at a record low it would be easy to give up on voting. “Sure what’s the point, they’re all the same” is a frequently heard comment. The recent events in Egypt remind us that living in a democracy, albeit a flawed one, does give us the opportunity to influence how our nation is governed. As followers of Jesus we want to ‘seek the good of the city’ and be good neighbours. Voting is one way of pursuing God’s agenda of justice and ensuring that the ‘least’ in our communities are treated fairly.
To that end Sean Mullan (EAI) and Patrick Mitchel (IBI) have written a helpful article looking at “” areas for Christians to consider when voting such as justice, generosity, money and work, power and accountability. You can read the article here: http://bit.ly/election10points
The Elections Ireland website provides a helpful overview of who is standing in your constituency and links to their websites and policies – www.electionsireland.org
As we approach the election let’s pray for all the parties and candidates, and that God will enable us to vote wisely.
Healing Prayer Training Invitation

Dear CORE Church,
We would like to extend an invitation to you and your church to another healing prayer training conducted by our Dublin Healing on The Streets Team. The training will be Friday evening, 18th February and Saturday morning, 19th February, (with a practical experience Saturday afternoon in the City Centre) held in our Vineyard Centre, 35 Avenue Road, Portobello, Dublin 8.
Healing on the Streets is a ministry sponsored by Dublin Vineyard Church but not limited to only those from our local church. Healing on the Streets is a prayer model used by many churches across the UK, Northern Ireland and Europe. Check out their Resource page outlining the prayer model http://www.out-there.org/checklist.htm . Registrations can be done on our website http://www.dublinvineyard.ie/healing-on-the-streets-registration or by contacting me in the church office.Thank you for your time and attention. God bless – Melissa Garza, Dubln Vineyard Church
Changes in the Crèche

As announced on Sunday, due to the reduction in the number of babies in the church and to utilise volunteers elsewhere the CORE Kids team has decided to have the crèche unsupervised for the rest of this term. The room will still be available to parents and babies and the cupboards will be left unlocked. We do ask that if you use the room that you tidy up after you. We are also working on getting the speakers in the crèche back into action so parents will still be able to listen to the sermon. We will keep an eye on how this works out and will review the situation for next term.
