CORE interim leadership arrangements

(1) Episcopal Oversight from the diocese remains in place as usual, except that it will be exercised until the new Archbishop is in situ by the Dean of Christ Church, Dean Dermot Dunne.
(2) Congregational leadership we feel should be exercised by a team rather than an individual and we would suggest a triumvirate of Philip Larragy, Sean Copeland and Graham Jones. The Archbishop is aware that each of these three are recognised leaders in CORE and in different aspects of its ministry. Within this trio, there should be a breadth of experience and knowledge of the wider Church of Ireland of which CORE is part. The Trustees and the above named triumvirate wish to add Paddy Heron to this team so as to maintain a direct link with all staff. Paddy has expressed his willingness to step up to some additional responsibilities during the transition.
(3) The Rev’d Garth Bunting, of Christ Church Cathedral, will be available to celebrate the Holy Communion each month from February during the vacancy at CORE
There will be an opportunity for all CORE members to ask questions and participate in the planning process during a General Meeting on Wednesday 2nd February at 8.00pm in CORE. More details in due course.
Farewell reception for Jon and Kathryn Kissell – Jan 23rd.

As you are all aware we will be losing Jon and Kathryn Kissell from their leadership and ministry roles at CORE at the end of January. Many of you have asked for an opportunity to formally acknowledge their six years at CORE and to thank them for their great service to our church and community.
It is proposed that we will honor them with a reception and presentation following their last service at CORE on Sunday 23rd January. Please plan to be there and let us know if you are willing to provide food or soft drinks for this important occasion. Just email Amy at pa.corechurch@gmail.com with your offer.
Mainly Music – Can you help out?
![]()
On Thursday mornings from “” to 12 noon, we run Mainly Music for Mums and their
preschool children from the community. This involves half an hour of songs and rhymes followed by tea/coffee for the Mums and play for the children. It is a fantastic group. We currently have about “” families on our books as well as a waiting list. There are usually 25-30 families coming along on any given Thursday. We are finally getting to know some of the Mums better and they all love coming. However, Kathryn has been leading the music with Tricia’s support and we have already been working on a skeleton team. So we’re not sure whether we can continue come January. If we are to continue, we would need 4 or 5 new volunteers for welcome, admin, coffee, sound or music. Please let me know if you would like to help on a Thurs morning and please pray that God would make His will clear for us.
Thanks, Helena
