PM Craig Cooney’s Introduction Service 7.30pm

Service of Introduction – Can you help?

On Sunday 4th September at 7.30pm we will be officially welcoming Craig Cooney to CORE at his Introduction Service with the Archbishop Michael Jackson.

As we are expecting a lot of guests both from Lurgan and the greater Dublin area we need a team of 6-8 to welcome and usher at the service.

We also need a team of 8 to help with the catering, some in the afternoon prior to the service and some with serving afterwards. We are also looking for donations of baked goods, specifically sponge cakes, buns, tea brack, flapjacks etc.

SOLAS Request – Do you have a spare room?

Solas Project is planning to take on an intern for a period of 11 to 12 months, potentially starting in January 2012. This is organised through ‘Agape Adventures’, which is a specialist gap year and voluntary service organisation and promotes and develops volunteering opportunities for people aged “” years and over. We are looking for a family or an individual who has a spare room and would be in a position to host the intern. Costs of food, utilities etc. would be covered. There would be no expectation to provide meals.

Office coverage during holiday period:

Office staff will be taking holidays during July and August and the office may not be manned all of the time during this period. In the event of something urgent please leave a message on the answering machine on 01 – 4735100 as this will be monitored regularly.

Your church needs you!!

If you are not currently involved in a ministry in church there are a number of ways you can get involved. We currently urgently need volunteers for:

Ministry Time Commitment
CORE Kids – teachers and helpers One Sunday morning a month
Powerpoint Team One Sunday morning a month
Sound Team One Sunday morning a month
Kidz Klub – Saturday Klubs Saturday morning or afternoon
Mainly Music – welcome, powerpoint, sound, music, admin, kitchen etc. Thursday mornings
Maintenance – Carpentry or painting Once off and on-going help needed

CORE Kids Classes restarting

On Sunday 4th September we will be resuming on CORE Kids Classes. Until then there will be an unsupervised activities set up in the crèche and back tower room for the kids. Our 3 class groups are:

If your child is new to CORE Kids or is due to change groups please get in touch with the contact person above. Please note our crèche is currently unsupervised due to a shortage of volunteers.

Prayer Requests and Thanksgivings

• Pray for Craig and Becky that all would go smoothly as they move to Dublin in the coming weeks.
• Please pray for Paddy who has injured his back, pray for full healing and recovery.
• Please continue to pray for volunteers to come forward to help with a number of our ministries specifically Kidz Klub, Mainly Music, CORE Kids and the powerpoint team.
• Continue to pray for all those affected by the famine in southern Somalia. Pray that aid will reach those who need it and for wisdom for those distributing it.
