New Minister-in-charge appointed

The Trustees are delighted to announce that C.O.R.E will have a new Minister-In-Charge as and from September. Rev. Craig Cooney will join C.O.R.E from Shankill Parish in Lurgan, Co. Armagh, a parish of 1,400 families, where he has served as a curate for five years, including a 16 month period where the parish was between ministers. While there he also pioneered a new Sunday evening congregation ‘ARISE’ which has grown to over 200 in attendance. Before training in Dublin between 2003 and 2006, Craig was involved in marketing and advertising.
Craig’s love of God, his gifts of pastoral care, teaching and his heart to bring people to know Jesus came across both to the Selection Advisory team and to the Trustees in the process of meeting with him and resulted in a unanimous recommendation to the Archbishop for his appointment. Craig is in his mid-30s and is married to Becky who is a speech therapist. We trust that you will welcome them both back to Dublin and prayerfully hold them before God as they plan and indeed undertake this new adventure in their lives. A special thanks to the Selection Advisory team of Philip Larragy, Mary Finn, Helena Goss and Graham Jones for their input into the process. Liberties Flea Market – Sunday 26th June

On Sunday 26th June we have a stand at The Liberties Flea market in Newmarket Square. This is a great opportunity to raise some much needed funds and get out into our local community! You can help in two ways:
1. Volunteers to man the stand on the day – the market is from 11am – 5pm and set up is from 9am. We are hoping to get enough volunteers to be able to have people man the stand in shifts so if you are up for helping out contact Clodagh: 0871772095/ clodagh.oreilly@hotmail.com
2. We need some stuff to sell at our stand so we are looking for you to clear out your home of unwanted Brick-a-Brack (No Junk please!), Books, CD’s/DVDs, homeware, crafts, unwanted gifts etc. Bring it along to the church this Sunday!
Update from Clowns for Haiti – The Bishop & Gladys Return…

Bishop and Gladys were back in good health in Ireland from Thursday to Saturday going around schools thanking and meeting all the children who helped their school – beautiful moments particularly the trip to attend our Kidz Klub on Saturday. They thought it was just fabulous and the team were amazing, naturally! They thanked all the kids for their prayers and money that the kids donated last year. The Bishop shared a simple little short message “Let the children come to me” (Mark 10:14), simple but powerful. Children came up to pray later at our quiet time and the prayers from our local kids were mainly to their fellow brothers and sisters in Haiti! They also visited Charles Ogbonna’s school, Lucan CBS who have been a partner with us from the very beginning through all our work in Haiti – so another beautiful moment brought about by God working through our people! The Bishop and Gladys were so blessed to come to our Church and asked me to make sure I tell everyone how special we all are thought of in Haiti and their prayers go out to us all in our search for the New Pastor. Our work in Haiti has now been honoured by Digicel Foundation, who are, as we speak, commencing the rebuild of a PERMANENT NEW SCHOOL AND VOLUNTEER QUARTERS for people from Ireland and elsewhere who want to, at some time in the future visit and help their school/ministry. Another amazing blessing since just over 1 year ago our church got involved in helping the Little School of Miracles and Restoration!! God bless… Pete!
