The second ‘Equipping the Saints Training Evening’ will be on Prayer Ministry. The theme of the evening: Ministering in the Power of the Holy Spirit.
The evening will start with worship, followed by practical teaching and prayer ministry. We would like to invite those who have already been trained in praying for others to come for a refresher and for those who would like to be trained to join us. We would also like to open the evening up to those from other churches who would be interested in learning about Prayer ministry.
Collide Event - Jason Upton Concert on Saturday 9th October

Every term we have a Collide Event, an opportunity to ‘bump into each other’ and get to know each other better. This term we are all going to head down to The Exchange, Gardiner Street for a worship concert by Jason Upton on Saturday 9th October.
Tickets are €25 from Scripture Union
Jason Upton was adopted in 1973 and grew up in Minneapolis Minnesota, After getting married to his wife Rachel, in 1995, the two had an encounter with God that would change their lives. This encounter made them question why they just sang in churches and left them with a desire to impact people for Christ. During their time at Regent University, finishing their Masters of Divinity programs, they set up a worship room in their home where they regularly gathered with other worshipers to pray and intercede. It was during these times that they realized that the songs God was giving them during worship were not simply songs but keys that would open and shut doors in the spirit. Since that time Jason has been asked to worship all over the country and the world. On January 9, 2001 Jason and Rachel had their first child, Samuel James.

Jobcare Supporters Evening on Thursday 21st October 7.30pm

On Thursday the 21st October we at CORE are hosting the Jobcare annual Supporters evening. This is an opportunity for people to learn more about the work Jobcare have been doing with the long-term unemployed in Dublin’s inner city for the last 16 years. The night is a celebration of Jobcare’s work and will include a time of prayer and worship as well as an opportunity to hear some stories of what God is doing through Jobcare.
As a church we really want to encourage and support Jobcare and it would be great to get as many people from the congregation to come along to this event. For more info on Jobcare have a look at their website www.jobcare.ie, where there are film and radio interviews and details of the different courses and programmes they deliver.
Bring and Share Lunch Review

The welcome lunch in the church last Sunday week 26th September was a great opportunity to catch up with friends, and welcome new people to CORE as we all shared our sandwiches, rhubarb tart, Greek yogurt, and chocolates. It was a great ‘low cost’ way of having fellowship and conversation together as we lived out Acts 2 v. 44-47; sharing together (verse 44), praising God and the Lord will bring new people to us (verse 47). We all look forward to having more welcome lunches on a regular basis. – David Gibson
Alpha Course 2011 – Recruiting Leaders

The Alpha course is a “” week course that is open to everyone interested in discovering what Christianity is about and is designed primarily for those who are not churchgoers. We are planning to run an Alpha course in the New Year and are currently looking to gather a team of people interested in helping out.
We are holding a training evening for those interested on the evening of Sunday the 7th November. Paddy Monaghan of Alpha Ireland will be coming along to speak at this.
If you are interested talk to Jon and come along on the 7th!Review of Sunday 3rd October - Jonny Clark speaking

We were delighted to welcome Jonny Clarke Director of YWAM Ireland to share with us last Sunday morning. Jonny shared on the idea that holiness is moving into the darkness and challenged us as a church, and in our individual lives, to be moving in the places of darkness and bringing God’s light with us. This was very much in keeping with what God had been speaking to us about during the week of prayer and fasting. Ferg Brown who is currently heading up the DTS in Dublin also shared briefly on what they are up to in Dublin. It was really encouraging to hear stories of what YWAM are part of across Ireland and also to be challenged to follow Jesus into the places of darkness in our city, as He is dwelling (or pitching His tent) there!
Review of our Three Days of Prayer & Fasting

Monday 27th September began our first night of meeting together on our days of fasting. We began with personal repentance and cleansing. We had a time of worship, waiting and sitting quietly in the Lord’s presence allowing him to speak to our own hearts concerning our need for repentance and cleansing. Tuesday we prayed for CORE Church – people walked throughout the space praying for the people of CORE plus the ones not yet part of the body, but believing God would bring them in. We dedicated the space once again to the Lord.
Wednesday our final night was our prayer walk. One group of 13 went to Solas after-school premises and the other group of 15 went walking in 2&3’s to Oliver Bond. The prayer walk opened our eyes to what is happening in our local area. We prayed as we walked that God’s light would shine and people would come to know Jesus. As a prophetic act we placed jars with lighted candles on the steps of Core representing the light that flows from CORE. During the walk people received words and pictures that were then shared after we met back together and which will be prayed into in our prayer times over the coming weeks. It was a time of hope, and a sense that God is on the move, and he is hearing our prayers. – Helen Lloyd
