Awakening: Week of Prayer and Fasting

As you probably are already aware this week is our Week of Prayer and Fasting. This is an opportunity at the beginning of the year to take time out to seek His face, to hear His voice, and to pray for His provision in 2012. It is not to late to join in! Please see the adjoining attachments fore more details. Whether you are partaking in a full fast, partial fast or unable to fast we hope this will be a week of focused prayer for you and would love if you could join us Thursday night (26th) for an evening of Prayer & Worship in C.O.R.E at 7.30pm.

Town Hall/House Meeting

On Sunday night coming (29th January) at 7pm we are having a C.O.R.E House Meeting (previously Town Hall). This will be an opportunity to feedback what we sense God might be saying to us as a church and prayer into these things together. This is an important opportunity for us to get together as church family so do try to make it a priority.

Weekend of Prayer for Dublin 27th-28th January 2012

As part of the movement ‘MOBILISING INTERCESSION FOR EUROPE – OPERATION CAPITALS OF EUROPE’ there are 2 days of prayer for Dublin coming up at the end of our week of prayer&fasting. One of the days will be held in C.O.R.E, so if you are free come along to some or all of the events.

Growing in Healing 5 Week Course

Would you like to grow in your ability and confidence to bring healing to others?
Would you like to learn more about what the Bible teaches about physical healing?
C.O.R.E. is hosting a 5 week seminar called “Growing in Healing” on Wednesday evenings beginning Wednesday 15th February at 7.45 in St Catherine’s. There will be a registration fee of €10 per person to help cover costs of the materials. This course will be just for those who attend St Catherine’s and spaces will be limited so register early. Contact Amy in the church office to register or speak to Sean Copeland if you have any questions.

Evening of Healing Prayer

On Sunday 26th February, and one Sunday evening in March, April and May, C.O.R.E. will host an evening of prayer for those who are sick. More details will follow as we get closer to the date.

Thank You Adonis

A big thank you to Adonis who has done a wonderful job of cleaning the church for the last number of years. Adonis is now moving on but is available for domestic cleaning work. If you are interested please contact him on 0870673059. Jobcare have now taken over the cleaning contract in the church as well as continuing to paint the interior of the building.

CORE Kids Volunteers Evening

On Monday 30th January from 7.30-9.30pm we will be gathering together all of those on our CORE Kids team – teachers and helpers and anyone interested in getting involved. We will be looking forward to the year ahead, talking through some of the changes and welcoming Paddy as our new CORE Kids overseer. Please stick the date in your diary now as it will creep up soon and it would be great to have everyone together.

Envelope Scheme – New envelopes are in!

For those of you who are using the envelope scheme your new envelopes are available for collection at the welcome desk this Sunday – please take the SAME number as last year. If you are interested in using the envelope scheme as your method of giving here in C.O.R.E contact the office on 4735100.
This allows you to put in variable cash donations during the year in a way agreed with the Revenue that can count towards the tax relief. The principle is this: you sign up to take a numbered envelope say number 26 and you get 52 envelopes with this number on and you put in each week what you wish to contribute. These are tallied under the number 26 and then we can produce a PAYE form at the end of the year for these contributions.

Prayer Requests and Thanksgivings

• Pray that we would see God move in powerful ways as we take time to pray and fast this week as a church. Give thanks for all He is doing and will continue to do this week.
• Please keep Paddy’s mum Vera, and Collette’
• Continue to pray for all those affected by the fire at St. Catherine’s Church on Meath Street this week. Pray for Father Niall and the people in the local area who will be without a church building for some time.
• Pray for the finances of the church that we would see God’s provision in order to continue the work that God has called us to.
