Prayer Evening – This Sunday!

This coming Sunday 11th Dec. 7-9pm we are having another prayer evening at Craig and Becky’s (636 SCR). We will be praying for Ireland at the moment, and that the Church in Ireland would be an anchor of hope, we will also be praying for our church and each other. All Welcome along!
Tea & Coffee Giveaway

Next Tuesday morning 13th we are going to be doing a tea and coffee giveaway outside the church, specifically targeting those waiting at bus stops and those queuing up outside the social welfare office. This will be a chance to serve the community in a practical way, and bring hope and warmth to people at a cold and often bleak time of year. We will be meeting at the church at 8.15 and finishing up at 10.30am. If you are free to help out email amy.corechurch@gmail.com to let us know!
Church Clean Up

“He’s going to clean house—make a clean sweep of your lives. He’ll place everything true in its proper place before God…” (Matt. 3.11)
In keeping with the theme of God making a clean sweep in the church we are going to have a Church Clean Up in preparation for the Carol Service. We would appreciate if everyone would make on ongoing effort of tidying as they go in the church as there seems to be a constant build-up of clutter around the building. In addition to this though we are going to have a sorting and dumping morning on Thursday 15th December from 9.30am. If you are free please come along and give us a hand!

Solas Project: Room Request

By now many of you have met our new intern for Solas Project, Lisa. Lisa graduated from school in Germany during the summer and is taking a year out to help her decide what to do next. Lisa is also helping out with Kidz Klub while she is here. For her first month we have found temporary accommodation for her but are looking for somewhere more permanent for her to live when she returns after the Christmas holidays in January until she leaves in August. So do you have a spare room or know someone who does? Lisa will do her own shopping and cooking and we will make a contribution towards heating and electricity bills. If you are interested in helping us out in this way or would like more information please chat to Salla, Graham or Amy or email amy@solasproject.ie.
A note from Paddy…

Some of you may be aware that occasionally we get people coming into the church to ask for money. In my experience I have found that if cash is the thing that is being requested there is usually more to the problem than you are being told and sometimes there is an addiction issue in the person’s life. I would be quite happy for anyone who is asked for money to send the person to me and I will deal with it in a Godly but firm way. Please don’t give cash as this sometimes exacerbates the problem.
Prayer Requests and Thanksgivings

Thank God for all that He is doing in and through us as a church at the moment. Give thanks for the many ministries we can continue to run and the lives that are touched through them. Give thanks also for the sense of a clean sweep and a fresh start for us as a church family.
Please pray for protection over the church and on all those who come into the church.
Thank you for continuing to keep Tómas Kennedy in prayer, as his chemotherapy continues. His family are really grateful for the on-going prayer for healing for Tómas.
Pray for the finances of the church that we would see God’s provision in order to continue the work that God has called us to.
Please pray safety for Peter Gannon and the other Clowns who are currently in Haiti. Pray for protection for them and that they would bring Joy and hope to all they meet.
Pray for all of those for whom Christmas will be a difficult time this year, for those who have lost loved ones, who are struggling financially or who have difficult family situations. Pray that they would know the Hope and Peace of this season in their individual circumstances.
Pray that we would bring the Hope of Jesus into the lives of those around us this Christmas. Pray that all who visit our church this Christmas season would be drawn to Jesus.
