FREE VOX MAGAZINE

FREE VOX MAGAZINE

After our next two Sunday services we will be giving away free VOX magazines! VOX magazine was started as a partnership between Evangelical Alliance Ireland, OM Ireland and Oasis of Love Ministries.“Our vision is to see Christians in Ireland informed, inspired and equipped to engage with one another and with Irish society,” shares magazine editor Ruth Garvey-Williams.“We want to take a close look at what is happening here in Ireland and ask some challenging questions. We also want to share and celebrate the good news that God is at work and lives are being transformed.“VOX (Latin for voice) is designed to give a voice for Christians in Ireland from many different types of churches and backgrounds. It is a place for us to share and debate, to encourage and challenge one another and to explore what God is doing in this nation. In giving is away free it is hoped that it will increase readership and get the word out there. So a big thanks to all at VOX and happy reading!

HUNGRY FOR HAITI

HUNGRY FOR HAITI

The Hungry for Haiti appeal has proved a big success thanks to you and many others who so generously supported our efforts. We had great craic on Grafton St during our 24hr stint from 8pm on Friday. It is an entertaining place to set up camp and despite the sub-zero temperatures and the grumbling stomachs, as the hunger crept in, we had a lot of fun, many visitors, numerous games of soccer and loads of buckets gathering cash all the while. Saturday saw the cavalry arrive and we had fresh faces arriving in waves and injecting energy into our tiring efforts. At one stage we had “” collectors on Grafton St and had it covered top to bottom with people clad in many layers but all wearing a bright yellow t-shirt to support the Hungry for Haiti appeal.

It all worked a treat and we collected over €10,500 on the streets and have a further €10,000 or so committed by sponsors. It was a great event to be involved in and everyone who participated really enjoyed the experience. We are delighted with the result and are really grateful to all those who contributed time energy and most of all the most needed thing, financial support. For photos see www.hungryforhaiti.info
