Frequently Asked Questions
Where do small groups meet?
Most CORE small groups meet in people’s homes around the city but some also meet in the church building. However, we want to start up groups wherever they can meet – work, pubs, cafes, homes or any other location.
When do groups meet?
Groups meet mid-week, the days and times vary depending on the group. Most groups meet in the evening but some meet during in the day. Groups usually take a summer break but run through the rest of the year.
Who goes to small groups?
Small groups include people of all ages, stages of life, and interests. Groups develop as they feel most comfortable, so the group will reflect the people that are in it.
How do I get connected to a small group?
You might already know someone in a small group near you that you’d like to join. You can just go along with them to their next meeting.
Or you can check out our small group profiles, see which one might suit you best and sign up online. The small group leader will then contact you to invite you along to their next meeting.
What happens in small groups?
Small groups vary depending on the members so each is unique in how they do things. But generally you might find all or several of the following components: bible study, prayer, worship and chat (tea/coffee and biscuits is a prerequisite!!).
Who leads small groups?
Each small group is led by a person or people who have been appointed by the Minister in Charge. They receive training and support throughout the year.
