The Barnabas Group
The Barnabas Group is the pastoral care team of the church. It’s purpose it to facilitate the building up of the body in pastoral and spiritual matters, and to be a touchstone for the Minister in Charge relating to matters of pastoral care within the church. The group is made up of both appointed and elected members and meets at least 3 times a year.
Pastoral Carers
Small groups are the primary place for pastoral care at CORE. Our hope is that each member of CORE will be a member of a small group and thus be able to receive regular prayer, encouragement and support from peers and friends.
However, we recognise that sometimes issues arise in our lives where support is needed beyond what can be offered within the context of a small group. We are currently developing a pastoral care team who will meet with individuals for prayer and to provide support.
It may be that you are facing an issue that requires more in-depth counseling of a specialist nature. We are currently building a network of trusted and experienced external counselors and we would be happy to meet with you and refer you to someone who can help.
