Fireflies (0-3yrs)
Our aim in Fireflies is not only to provide a safe, secure and loving environment in which all children from 0 to 3 years can be cared for by trained volunteers but also a place where they can be encouraged in their spiritual relationship with the Lord even though they are so young. We encourage this every Sunday through an exciting routine of PRAYER, PRAISE and PLAY which also encourages all parents to become participators of this wonderful process of building their children’s faith!
At the start of fireflies both the children and their parents are welcomed and invited to sit down on the carpet for a time of PRAYER and PRAISE. Everybody introduces himself or herself so that the parents know who are responsible for their children that morning. This is then followed by a short time of prayer led by one of the parents or a team member and then we sing a praise song with the children, either using a CD or led by a team member. We try and choose lively, active praise songs that encourage everyone to jump around and get involved! The parents then rejoin the main service and the children have a time of free play before their parents collect them at the end of the service.
Fireflies is a wonderful place to start for every parent and child and it is a very exciting place to be, especially when you see the children expressing their faith and love for the Lord.
