Children's Team
I'm Sian and I'm from sunny South Africa. I've been living in Ireland for five years now and work at the Adelaide Presbyterian church as a preschool teacher. I made a commitment to Christ in July 2005. I've always had a desire to work with children and since making my commitment to the Lord, I've had an even greater desire to teach them about His great love for them and to show them His incredible ways.
Having 3 children of my own around this age group, I'm eager that the children in our church grow up knowing how deep, how wide, how great the Father's love is for them. In years to come they may not remember marching two by two into the ark, defeating the Midianites with Gideon or building a house upon a rock, but, With the help of God, they will know His faithfulness. For me, this is a real adventure, stepping out into the unknown, but not alone. I'm Peter, and I'm a Sparkler! .
I'm a primary school teacher who loves music, art, languages and sports. I'm married to a fab man and have two little blessings under three. I love teaching the children in CORE Kids and find it so rewarding when they enjoy and learn from a class. Sometimes I even learn from them too!
My involvement with Children's Ministry started after I'd had 2 of my 4 children. I guess I bring my experience and love of drama, theatre and craft to the ministry, as well as my passion for teaching and storytelling. I have known Jesus for 20 years, yet I find that working with children has deepened my relationship with God while simplifying it. Some of the best truths are the simplest.
