Our Vision is under-girded by a number of significant values:
The Word of God
We believe that the Bible is the inspired, written word of God and we seek to read it, meditate on it, and for our lives to be transformed according to its teachings.
Worship
We believe that our highest calling is to worship God in word and action. We aim to communicate this through the love and devotion expressed in our music and creative arts and embodied in the way that we live our lives.
Prayer
Our desire is to see a church that is constantly under girded by prayer, in its many forms. We see that Jesus modelled the necessity of prayer and we want to be like Him in this.
Ministry in the power of the Holy Spirit
We highly value the ministry of the Holy Spirit and our model of ministry is one in which we aim to be dependent upon the work of the Holy Spirit, in every aspect of the church’s life.
Prophetic
We highly value the prophetic and we want to give it room to develop, under supervision. Prophecy will be expressed in the very way we do our ministries as well as through individuals in prayer ministry or in corporate worship.
Unity
Paul exhorts us to ‘make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.’ (Eph 4:3). As a church community we may not agree on everything but we are committed to working through our differences and by focusing on what we have in common in Jesus we are unified and can become a dynamic witness for Him.
Character
We believe as followers of Jesus we are called to reflect His nature and character in the way we live our lives, growing in the fruits of the Spirit and becoming mature, so that we ‘live a life worthy of the calling we have received’ (Eph 4:1)
Leadership
We want to acknowledge anointed leadership, rather than seek just anyone to lead, and to enable and facilitate the development of leadership at every level of the life of the church.
Service
Jesus came to serve, not to be served (Mt 20:28) and we want to follow his example both within the church and beyond it, learning to live out the second great commandment ‘to love your neighbour as yourself’ (Mt22: 39).
Reaching Out
We take seriously the co-missioning and anointing by Jesus to be his witnesses (Acts 1:8) and we want to learn how to take the Father’s love out into the community and to see broken lives being transformed.
